When Katie contacted me for a maternity session, I was over the moon excited! I adore spending time with expecting mothers and chatting about the new life that is coming into this world. And what a way to kick off blogging again!

Every year, in Galveston, there is a fun-filled December weekend. It’s called Dickens on the Strand, and if you ever have the chance to go, do it! We haven’t been able to go since 2009 (due to family schedules), so we jumped on the chance to visit in December. I love capturing the festivities and costumes, and here are a few of my favorites!

Enjoy!

When my sister-in-law contacted me about taking some Christmas card photos, it made my heart happy! Christina and Kurt have been married for five years, and decided it was time to take some portraits for their upcoming Christmas cards. So, we bounced a few ideas off of each other in the weeks before the shoot. She wanted to somehow incorporate their love of tacky sweaters, and snow. I put on my thinking cap, and came up with a few ideas.

I ventured to Target (which, for me, can be so dangerous. I want everything there), and snatched up about 12 bags of fake snow and snow pillows.

The day of the shoot was filled with laughter, getting stuck in the mud, so much fake snow, marshmallows, tacky sweaters, Christmas lights, and more. Here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Enjoy!

Our fall mini session set-up was adorable, but our clients made it even better! I love the idea of mini sessions. Children typically don’t have long attention spans (I have a three year old, I know all about that!), so the shorter time frame works so well for them.

Our first client of the day was Miss Tula. She is seriously the cutest little red-headed girl I’ve ever met! We talked about Halloween and pumpkins, it was perfect.

Next up, we had The Regan Family! Lyle decided he was going to give me “the look”. I can’t get enough of this image, and I think it’s a perfect portrayal of this wonderful little family!

Then, the best thing happened! A pirate joined in on the fun 😉 Kullen wasn’t feeling the set-up, so he decided he was going to set it up the way he wanted. We also found out that he really likes apples, so we sent him home with a bunch of them!

Last, but not least, a horse came by! Kayley had e-mailed me when I announced the minis, and she really wanted pictures of her with her beautiful horse. Of course, I said yes. And I’m so glad I did! Her horse was the sweetest and most beautiful horse I have ever seen.

A few months ago, we took a wonderful trip to Seaside Florida (http://www.seasidefl.com). We’ve been married for five years, so we figured we would travel a little further to celebrate. I think my favorite part about Seaside, other than the fact that it’s a beautiful little town, is that we never had to use our car (OH! And they have a killer grilled cheese truck). I’m pretty sure every visitor talks about buying a vacation home there, and it’s easy to see why. Here are a few photos I took while on an afternoon walk.

Enjoy!

Remember when I made the post about my sister in law being pregnant?! Well, here’s a few photos of baby Luke! He’s the sweetest little red-headed baby there is.

Enjoy!

So, I’m a little behind on a 2013 wrap up post! My internet went out for over a week, and you know how that goes. I will be playing blog catch up over the coming weeks, so be sure to stay tuned for that!

Anyway, 2013 was a great year for growth, beautiful clients, wonderful shoots, and some creativity. I traveled a little as well, and that’s always nice!

It was hard to narrow it down, and so there are still quite a few images below 🙂

Enjoy!
